It’s a wrap as Wemms celebrates another amazing academic year.
It seems incredible that another school year has drawn to a close. And already it is time to look back and chart just how far each and every Wemms student has travelled on their personal journey. To celebrate as a community, Wemms families, friends, students and teachers gathered in Ashtead’s Peace Memorial Hall for the Annual Graduation Ceremony.
Malcolm X famously said, “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” Education and growth go hand-in-hand and the students’ effort, motivation and growth were evident in abundance. From the awards achieved by students in national competitions (Pi Wars, water rockets, leadership to name but a few), to the number of GCSEs and A levels sat, and a record number of students hoping to head to university and college in the autumn. Our students are all unique and they have all grown and developed in their own way.
Wemms’ principal, Joy, personally congratulated each student as they progressed to the next academic year. She was joined by governor, Alan, who presented their certificates. But it wasn’t only the students who had their achievements recognised. The community also celebrated Joy’s Pearson Specialist School Award!
The Wemms community is so proud of its students’ achievements! With some students moving to pastures new and the school moving to its new home at Woodstock House, so one chapter ends and another one begins …
Here’s to a wonderful, relaxing summer, to ever strengthening bonds and friendships, and to memories created and celebrated. Wemms community … you are all amazing!
